This deluxe streamlined kitchen encapsulates the essence of functional, contemporary living.  The stone benchtops and gloss 2-pack lacquer on the doors and panels are complemented by the stainless steel appliances.  The island features hidden LED lighting, breakfast sitting areas for a large family, an induction cooktop and a deluxe overhead rangehood.  Handle free overhead cabinets add to the streamline effect.  Storage areas include a huge walk-in-pantry, large pot drawers with soft-closing heavy-duty drawer runners, dedicated pull-out bin and hidden storage cabinets at the back of island bench.  The double under-mounted sink has a routed down drainer.

 

We do most of our design work on the computer, where we are able to show our client 3 dimensional colour images of their new kitchen.

 

By working closely with our client we were able to make them part of the project and ensured that they got a kitchen that was exactly what they were after.  We wanted to create a kitchen that was modern, sleek and functional to suit a young, growing family.

 

We devised a contemporary style that resulted in a highly functional kitchen with clean lines.  The luxurious expanses of 20mm CaeserStone in ‘Mangrove’ create a bold statement against the full gloss 2-pack lacquer of the white cabinetry and are complemented by the stainless steel appliances.

 

The island bench designates a seating area that allows the family to enjoy light meals and breakfast in casual comfort.  It also features the cooking area with a large induction cooktop and an unusual deluxe stainless steel rangehood overhead.

 

In breaking up the long island bench, a stepped down cabinet was placed perpendicular to the main bench creating an eye-catching feature and this was framed with 80mm stone.  The main bench features hidden cabinets at the back for added storage, these cabinets also have internal LED lighting.

 

LED Lighting was also added around the island benches, inside cabinets and under the overheads for accent task lighting.  Three pendant lights were installed above the stepped down bench to add focus to this area.

 

We needed to incorporate into the design an oven, microwave and coffee machine, and the client preferred to have all of these at bench height for ease of access.  As the design evolved, the position of the appliances was adjusted.  In the original design, the oven was placed in one tower and the microwave and coffee machine in another.  In the second design, these were separated into three different towers with the bottom of the appliances even at bench height, as the appliances are not of equal height this created an uneven line for the overhead cabinets.  To solve this issue we aligned the top of the appliances and created shallow, push-to-open drawers under the microwave and coffee machine and created the more streamlined final look.  Adjoining overhead cabinets were also adjusted in height to match the top of the appliances.  The overhead cabinets are also push-to-open eliminating the need for handles.  This, in conjunction with the shadow line finish at the ceiling, creates the long, sleek final effect.

 

Other features of this outstanding kitchen are an abundance of large pot drawers with soft-closing heavy-duty runners, dedicated pull-out bin, enormous walk-in pantry and a double under-mounted sink with the sink drainer routed into the stone benchtop.
