Plywood & S/Steel Kitchen

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Unusual materials and stainless steel combine to create an ultra modern kitchen with an eastern twist.  The cabinets are constructed of marine ply and stained with ‘Japanese Black’.  The benchtops, splashback and open corner shelves are stainless steel as is the custom made, seamless sink & bench.  A highlight to this very individual kitchen is the bamboo breakfast bar.

KICKERS:  Plywood covered with stainless steel

SPLASHBACK:  Stainless Steel

LOWER BENCH:  70mm Bamboo with clear varnish

This client wanted to make the most of the relatively small kitchen space without the use of overhead cabinets.  Two pull-out pantries either side of the fridge provide ample storage space and every possible space was made use of, for example the side cabinets next to the steamer, and cabinets all around the sink bench.

As our client travels often, he had many ideas he wanted to utilize in this kitchen, including the use of unusual materials.  Chris worked with the client to achieve the desired effect.

The marine ply stained with ‘Japanese Black’, varnished bamboo bench, stainless steal seamless all-in-one sink & bench, stainless steel splashbacks and open shelving have been combined to achieve the overall effect which fits in with the clients home.
